If you are unable to attend mass this week and would like to receive the Eucharist, call the Parish Office at 667-3419 before 3:30 on Friday or call Ann Fallert @ 667-3416 or Lavonne Fleming @ 667-7313 on Saturday and arrangements will be made for home communion.
Our
thoughts and prayers remain with those serving our country at this time and
with their loved ones at home. We pray
for a safe homecoming and that the world may one day be at peace.
NOTICE – We
will not be taking intentions for daily or Sunday mass until further notice. We have had an unusual number of deaths this
year and the mass intentions are more than Father can fulfill this year. We will only take mass intentions for members
of the parish that have passed away recently.

WE’RE ALL MISSIONARIES – Do you know
the date of your Baptism?
Well, on that day, you became a missionary, called by our Lord to share your faith with those around you – and to be part of the Church’s mission to the world.
Jesus Himself directed His followers to go into the whole world and proclaim His Gospel – the “Good News” of His love for us – to all peoples (see Mark 16:15). That mission is now directed to each one of us.
On World Mission
Sunday, we have the opportunity to be part of the Church’s missionary work in

RCIA UPDATES - Our
September 22 RCIA session was on Salvation and Redemption. We started the
meeting with a video entitle “Noise” which showed us how much outside noise is
in our every day lives. Do we make the silent time we need to speak to
and listen for answers from God? How did we deal with the lack of
electricity most of us experienced the week before due to the Hurricane?
Did we take advantage of the forced quiet time to connect with God? Dan
Thomas lead the group in a discussion about how God speaks to each of us…birth,
death, opportunities, people, the mass, music. We are told that Jesus
died to bring us salvation, what are we being saved from…Hell, envy, greed,
anger? The discussion brought us to the promise of God through his Son
that we will all be forgiven, that redemption is within our grasp if we simply
ask for it. Dan shared a story from “The Great Mysteries” by Andrew
Greeley which emphases that the Catholic Church tries to emphasis we are
basically good but can still misuse our time and talent but that we’re never
alone. It’s not too late to join us! We’ve changed our meeting
night to Mondays in Room # 101 at 7:00pm. Contact Dan Thomas if you are
interested
HOLY HOUR – We are continuing our monthly Holy Hour on the first Tuesday of the month, 7:00-8:00 pm. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed on the altar during the hour. Our next Holy Hour is this Tuesday, October 7.
THANKS, KRISTEN!

How Would
Jesus Vote, is a presentation by Fr.
Ken Overberg, a Jesuit priest from
#34 Catholics often face difficult choices about how
they vote. That is why it is so important to vote according to a well-formed
conscience that perceives the proper relationship among moral goods…
Fr. Overberg will be speaking here at
Reflections
on the Liturgy: The Communion
Procession
Have you ever thought about it that way? That
coming up to receive the Body and Blood of Christ is a procession? That
is what it’s called. It’s not just getting in line to receive for
oneself, but a processing up together in communion with one another. That
is one reason there is a “communion song.”

How Does a Person Get One?” The evening, sponsored by St. Helen and St. Francis

the procedure for applying for an annulment, and the legitimacy of children
born of marriages that are later annulled. Annulment counselors will be
