HOME EUCHARIST

If you are unable to attend mass this week and would like to receive the Eucharist, call the Parish Office at 667-3419 before 3:30 on Friday or call Ann Fallert @ 667-3416 or Lavonne Fleming @ 667-7313 on Saturday and arrangements will be made for home communion.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with those serving our country at this time and with their loved ones at home.  We pray for a safe homecoming and that the world may one day be at peace.

NOTICE – We will not be taking intentions for daily or Sunday mass until further notice.  We have had an unusual number of deaths this year and the mass intentions are more than Father can fulfill this year.  We will only take mass intentions for members of the parish that have passed away recently.

·         Double Belonging – Rev. George Kilcourse, Paulist Press, 1992

·         Interchurch Families – Rev. John Bush and Rev. Patrick Cooney, WJK Books, 2002.

Also, there are a couple of websites that would be helpful for interfaith couples at American Association of InterFaith Families and the Association of Interfaith Church (additional resources listed on this website; especially interesting is the Rome 2003 Document)

EVENING ON ANNULMENTS - What’s An Annulment and How Does a Person Get One?” The evening, sponsored by St. Helen and St. Francis parishes, will be presented by Rita Nieport on Wednesday, October 1 at 7 PM at St. Francis Parish.  This information session will address such issues as the procedure for applying for an annulment, and the legitimacy of children born of marriages that are later annulled.  Annulment counselors will be present to answer individual questions.  For more information, call Mary Ellen Singer at 433-0128, or Joan Torres at 254-6233.

Special Attention for PSR Parents:  Why Catholic? is offering an opportunity for parents to attend the Christian Prayer, Deepening my experience of God while your child/children are attending their PSR classes.   We will begin Wednesday October 8th and end on November 12th.  Time will be 7-8 pm. The room for the meeting will be announced later.  This is an opportunity to spend time with other parents in learning and discussion about prayer and prayer forms.  It is also a great example for your children.  It would be great if you could attend all six sessions, however come when you can, it’s okay!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all the people who cleaned the church during the month of September.  Job well done!

ST. VINCENT HOTEL – To make the evening go smoothly, we need eleven volunteers.  The minimum age requirement for volunteers is 14 years, but anyone under 18 must still be accompanied by a parent.  Our next trip is this Sunday, September 28, 2008.  We leave at 5:45 p.m. from the north parking lot at church and travel to the hotel.  This is an excellent Christian service project for your family.  Share the many blessing God has given you.  Please contact Mike Begley at 667-2882.

THANKS to the guys who helped Mike Droesch change the light bulbs in the church.  They spent most of one day getting the job done.  Thanks to Dennis McNulty, Guy Monnin and John Heitkamp.  It is great for our retired gentlemen to volunteer their time.  You’re great.
